Becky and I joined with a wonderful group of folks at the Carmike Theater to be part of a south Tyler church launch sponsored by Marvin Methodist Church.

We attended Dayspring on the second Sunday in operation in 2007 and on the third Sunday, we were signed on for both membership AND were on the hospitality team.

As plans came together for our current location, I was an active volunteer for a multitude of tasks and projects and welcomed folks at the front doors at 9:30 for many years. My volunteer status changed to staff member with responsibilities for the operational care of our campus buildings, and grounds, and providing support for staff and Trustee projects and programs. Even as a staff member I remained on the hospitality team greeting old and new members each Sunday.

Not one to miss out on a challenge to share the positive influence of our church message, we volunteered to be part of the team to initiate a revitalized Methodist presence in Flint. This project involved the extensive remodeling of an older Methodist campus building and redoing an additional building for a kid's ministry. 

We are so blessed to have both our daughter's family and our son's family attending the Flint campus with us.

• Favorite Author: Taylor Caldwell - A writer of the 40s and 50s writing Biblically based stories about Paul, about Judas, about intimate conversations with God and more... using strict adherence to the truths of the Bible blended with a fictional enhancement to make the Bible come alive. Think of it as how The Chosen blends that same technique together for today's tech dependent media audience.

• Hobbies: Too many to list - but being of service to others ranks pretty high on my enjoyment scale.

• Random Facts: I have been very blessed with a life packed with very interesting people, experiences, and career opportunities. Not a random fact but the highlight of my life has been having my family close enough to be a part of their lives and experiences on a daily basis
