APRIL KLEIN | Next Steps Director
April and her husband, Martin, are both Aggies who decided to raise a family in East Texas. Four boys and two dogs later, they still love living among the lakes and pine trees, playing games together, and growing a garden. While they’ve been members for many years, April joined the Dayspring staff in 2021. As the Next Steps Director, she helps people connect to community, grow in their faith, and love God by loving others. Relationships begin with an introduction, and she gets to facilitate many of those first connections: one on one with a visitor, through a new member lunch, or by planning events designed to build community. Growing in our faith happens best in small groups as we regularly meet together to fellowship, study, and pray. April strives to develop a variety of intentional growth opportunities that enrich our knowledge of and relationship with Jesus. As we are ready to love in action, she takes great joy in helping us use our gifts through volunteering on Sunday mornings, serving our neighbors, or sharing the gospel through global missions.
With a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, April began her career solving problems and optimizing processes. Although she continued on an entrepreneurial path, the Lord began calling her into ministry. First through MOPS International as a Ministry Advancement Coordinator and then as an Advocate for Compassion International, she continued to learn and grow. In 2010, while volunteering part-time in ministry roles, April became a licensed fitness instructor. Today, in addition to her full-time position at Dayspring, she still teaches a few fitness classes for Christus.
