First time at Dayspring?

Looking for a church to call ‘home’ can be difficult, so we want to make it easy for you to discern whether Dayspring might be a good fit for you. We tried to anticipate some of the questions you might have, but if you’re still wondering about something, don’t hesitate to ask us by using the form below!

What time are the worship services?

Our worship services are Sundays at 9:30 am and 11 am in Tyler, and 9:30 in Flint.

Where do I park?

When you arrive on our campus, you will see parking areas in front of each campus, with additional parking behind each building (at our Flint campus, most of the parking is behind the building).

Is there handicap accessibility?

Handicap parking is available at both campuses, with sidewalks leading directly from the reserved parking to the main entrances, which are accessible as well. Our facilities are all on one floor, so once you’re inside, everything is easily accessible.

What should I wear?

You’ll see shorts and flip flops, hats, jeans and button downs, slacks and dresses, and some suits. The point is for you to come comfortable to how you like to dress. We never want attire to be a barrier holding someone back from visiting. We care about your heart, not your clothes.

What about my kids/students?

We want you and your children to have a meaningful worship experience. That’s why we have a professionally staffed nursery for ages 6 weeks- 2 years. Tyler Campus’ Dayspring Kids program (3yrs-5th grade) is a fun, challenging time of worship with small group activities that are designed to teach your children about God’s love through Jesus Christ. The Dayspring Youth Ministry does not meet on Sunday mornings as we feel that it is important for youth to worship with their families. They instead meet at the Tyler campus on Sunday evenings, beginning at 6pm.

Will I be asked to stand and be recognized as a guest?

Definitely not! But we would love to get to know you better! Our ‘Engage Cards’ in the seatback pockets in our sanctuary will help with that- you can fill one out and put it in the offering basket as it passes by during worship.

Am I expected to give money during the offering?

Toward the end of the service, volunteer ushers will collect an offering. This offering helps support the church. If you are a guest, you should not feel obligated to give, though of course you are welcome to. The offering time is for members and those who consider Dayspring their church home.

Are your worship services traditional or contemporary?

Um, yes. We want worship to include the best of the ‘old’ and the best of the ‘new.’ Our music is upbeat and modern, we use video in worship, serve coffee and donuts, and dress casually. At the same time, we draw from the ancient traditions of our faith by incorporating some of the beautiful old hymns, prayers, and creeds in our times of worship.

How long are worship services?

Worship services typically last about one hour- sometimes less, occasionally a few minutes longer!
